Back again for another week of #MFRWauthor blog hop. This week is all about guilty pleasures.
I admit to having some trouble coming up with my seven for this post. Sad isn't it that I couldn't instantly rattle off things that I enjoy that could be considered a guilty pleasure.
This quote sums up my feelings.
Nevertheless here's what I came up with.
1) Wine. I don't drink that often, but I do enjoy a glass of wine every now and then. Strictly a white wine gal. I like my drinks of the sweeter variety.
On the topic of drinking, that would be my second on the list
2) Bailey's Irish Cream. Love the stuff and it comes in different flavors which makes me happy. A girl likes to have choices.
3) Sweets. Love them. Give me chocolate, cookies, brownies, ice cream I'm happy with them all.
4) Playing The Sims 3. I talked about this PC game in week 6 when we discussed our hobbies. I haven't gotten to play much since I'm trying to finish up my current WIP but it's a great way to relax.
5) Watching Bizarre Foods. I'm not much into reality TV but I do watch things like that. It's crazy some of the foods Andrew will eat on his travels, but it's great to see him try things and have respect for other's cultures and things even when he's not a fan of what he's been served. I know I wouldn't even attempt a quarter of the things he's eaten on his show. 6) Reading erotica. Who doesn't love a little smut every now and then?
7) Twitter. For the longest time I didn't get the point of it but recently I've gotten into using it more. I find myself checking it a few times a day and even installed the app on my phone. That is huge because I don't keep a lot of apps on my phone. The ones I have mostly are the ones that came pre-downloaded or a few games I got for my kids.
So there you have it, my 7 guilty(ish) pleasures. What are some of yours?
Be sure to check out the other participants on the blog hop to see what theirs might be.

Like you, I had trouble coming up with 7 items for my list. So I fudged and included one of the items three times. Yeah, I know: that's cheating.
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to think of things, but I managed. Sometimes you have to fudge things, but only if it's for the greater good. :)

Did Ed just say fudge? Yes, sweets are one of my guilty pleasures, too!
ReplyDeleteSweets are hard to say no too.

Oh, I love that you aren't guilty of your pleasures. How cool! I wish I would have thought of Bailey's Irish Cream. Yum. You came up with a great list, Meka.
ReplyDeleteNope not guilty at all. Keep everything in moderation so makes it not so bad when I do indulge. :) Love Bailey's. Glad you like my list

I love a sweet wine and Yay for Baileys and choices. Great post Meka!! (Ed made me crave fudge)
ReplyDeleteYep, I have to have it sweet. Bailey's I love the stuff straight on the rocks. Best ever. Now I need to go out and get some. LOL I don't eat a lot of fudge but I've been thinking about it all day because of him.

Bailey's is a great choice. That is great on its own, in coffee, on ice cream or hot chocolate. So its multiple indulgences in one.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it in my tea in the mornings. I use the non alcoholic Bailey's creamer though, maybe I need to try the real thing sometime.

I'm a white wine girl myself and of course chocolate, dark chocolate. Great list.
ReplyDeleteyes, love the white wines. Reds are too dry for my liking. Can never go wrong with chocolate.

Be thankful you had trouble coming up with 7. I think my list could have gone on for pages. Of course, combining sweets into a single item saves a few numbers. I'll do that next time. Combine and conquer.
ReplyDeleteI did have trouble but it's probably because of the quote I put up. I don't find 'guilt' in the things I enjoy. Combining sweets did help since that could have been all 7 easily.

Good for you, that you don't feel guilty! I need to adopt that philosophy, especially where chocolate is concerned.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great philosophy. Since I don't indulge in any of them too often, it's a real treat when I am able to. Well except for maybe the TV show, I watch it weekly, but still don't feel guilty about it. The sweets. I've been trying to keep less in the house so I don't over indulge in them. :)

God yes....Bailey's Irish Cream! That's how I learned to enjoy coffee in the morning....a generous portion in each cup every morning! Then I found the Irish Cream-flavored creamer. But Bailey's on the rocks is a good dessert after a decadent meal when I'm too stuffed for pie:)

PS: The above was me; I'd forgotten to sign out of blogger!
No worries. I've done that before, commenting from the wrong account. It's hard having so many aliases. LOL
DeleteI've never tried it in coffee or my tea. I do use the Bailey's creamer, doesn't have the kick of the real thing, but that's probably best. LOL I'm like you, give it to me straight, just the Bailey's on the rocks. Sweet and simple.

Fun. Guilty pleasures...
ReplyDelete1. Eating a whole orange, all by myself. (No sharing with kids.)
2. Taking off and just going on a walk by myself. (No kids. No hubby.)
3. Writing for an entire day straight. (No kids. No hubby.)
4. Reading an entire book in an afternoon. (No matter what the kids are doing.)
5. Chocolate. (Not sharing it either.)
6. Girls night, when my poor hubby is completely exhausted, but insists I go anyway.
7. CHEESE. Except I don't feel guilty about this one, until I look at the receipt...
Good cheese can get very pricey. LOL not sharing with the kids is a big deal. It never fails in my house, no matter how much stuff we buy for them to eat or drink the second I get something that's supposed to be for me it's instantly the fan favorite and they have to have it.

Great list! Twitter is definitely addicting! Thanks for dropping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteYes Twitter can be addictive. I've tried to set limits for myself which kinda work some days.
