Continuing with an excerpt from my book Fiendish and I'm picking up again with that. The excerpt picks up in the middle of chapter 3 and runs til the end of the chapter. Last week, much to Calida's excitement, Seth asked for her number. Now we get to see how the date ends. Will she get her kiss?
This final excerpt from the chapter is less than 8 sentences, but I didn't want to add in any from chapter 4.
If you are just joining me, click below to be taken to the beginning of this excerpt.
Seth punched in a number then I heard
ringing coming from inside his car. Our fingers touched when he gave me back my
phone, and we let them linger there for a moment.
“Until next time,” he said with a smile
before climbing back into his car.
I stood there watching until his
taillights faded away. I did a happy dance in my front yard, not caring if the
neighbors thought I was crazy, before I ran into the house to tell Macy.

Delightful, Meka. Just enough to make the reader want more. And I too did a happy dance.
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks! She didn't get her kiss, but the night did end well for her.

Love the happy dance : ) Cute. And sometimes just six sentences does as well as eight! Great job!
ReplyDelete:) The night ended on a high note for her, she was very excited. Glad you enjoyed it

I'm glad she's happy! Excellent excerpt, nice way to end their evening together...
ReplyDeleteShe was floating on cloud 9 that he asked for her number. Not the kiss she wanted, but she's still happy.
