Weekend Writing Warriors entry #15

Another entry for Weekend Writing Warriors. WeWriWa is a blog site open to all authors/writers published or unpublished. Follow the simple instructions on their blog to sign up and then post a snippet of writing on your own blog to join in on the fun.

Continuing with an excerpt from my book Fiendish and I'm picking up again with that. The excerpt picks up in the middle of chapter 3 and I will continue til the end of the chapter. Last week we finally got to hear from Calida. They are done with dinner and now he's preparing to take her home.

If you are just joining me, click the link below to be taken to the beginning of this excerpt.

Seth sat back against his seat and crossed his arms. The same frown he had when I pulled out my wallet once again made an appearance. “It’s nearly dark. I would prefer driving you home instead of leaving you at the public transit station.”
“Oh. I just didn’t want to inconvenience you.”
“I promise you, it’s not an inconvenience.”
Seth flashed me another one of those charming smiles that had me captivated most of the evening.

Comments

  1. I just don't trust him. He seemed too perfect early on and then we had reason to question his intentions. I'm not sure whether she should trust him or not. It's gentle but he certainly seems manipulative.I'm very crious to see where this is going.

    1. You are right not to trust him, and she shouldn't either. His manipulations are subtle right now, he's testing the water so to speak. Little things he'll do or say to see how she responds. It's what he does best.

  2. He seems so nice. I agree with Chelle, I would say too nice to be trusted.

    1. LOL. He's being a gentleman. But as I said to Chelle, he really isn't to be trusted.

  3. Ah crap, she's probably safer on the bus! You have me all creeped out about Seth!

    1. LOL, she is probably safer anywhere where Seth isn't. He's not a nice man, she just doesn't know it yet.

    1. Easier said than done. She is a little taken with him so part of her wants to enjoy the attention from this handsome man. Plus he's pretty set on driving her home, and he usually does what he wants to do, regardless of what the other party has to say about it.

  6. How is it possible for him to be so charming and yet so creepy at the same time?! I have to read this book!

    1. LOL it's all apart of his personality. He has learned how to be perceived in public, it's his lure to drawn in his prey. A 'mask' if you will that he wears in order to get what he wants.

It's a long read, but hopefully you'll enjoy the ride it takes you on. Look forward to hearing your thoughts should you get around to reading it. :)

  7. Yeah, uh oh, RUN, sweetie!!! I'm getting more and more worried for her as this story goes along - so great job and excellent excerpt.

    1. LOL...it gives you that feel of watching a movie. You scream at the TV because you know something bad is going to happen but you're helpless to stop it.

  8. So charming. TOO charming. I'm with the others. Not sure whether or not to trust this guy, and I'm biting my fingernails anxiously. Great job!

    1. He is very charming. He plays the role well. No he should not be trusted. Most everything he does is for his benefit even if he makes it seem otherwise.

      thanks for reading
