Hello and welcome back. We are at week 24 of the #MFRWauthor blog hop. This week's topic is another one that had me scratching my head. *If I could eat ONE last meal*
There's a few reasons why I wasn't keen on this topic. 1) Who wants to think about their 'final' meal? Certainly not this chick. I just celebrated a birthday and entered another decade of life. 2) With so many food choices how is a girl to choose? and finally 3) I'm currently on a eat healthier kick (won't say the D word) so thinking about all the yummy foods I've been cutting back on makes me want them. LOL

So putting all the reasons aside for why this wasn't an easy topic, I thought about what food I'd want most if it was my last meal. As I mentioned I just celebrated a birthday and my husband took me out to a special dinner in honor of that day.
We went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and it was my first time ever going there. It was delicious! There wasn't a single thing that we ordered that I didn't absolutely enjoy. Before my current health kick, I'd long since cut back on the amount of red meat we consumed in my house, but let me tell you that all went out the window there. Cutting into a nice, mouthwatering, juicy steak and taking that first bite, it was divine!
So that would be my choice, I'd go back to Ruth's Chris and recreate that night. Full on three course meal. We didn't try an appetizer that night, so adding that to the final meal would be a bonus. I was stuffed simply from my steak and sides, leaving me only to take one bite of the dessert because I had no more room. However for my final meal I'm going down in a blaze of glory. Add a nice bottle of Chardonnay and I can go with a smile on my face.
How about you? What would be your final meal? Be sure to stop by the other authors on this hop to read about theirs.

Sounds like a wonderful birthday meal. I've never been there, either. May have to try it some day.
ReplyDeleteOh it was. A total splurge, but well worth it! Be prepared to walk out totally stuff when you go.

I LOVE Ruth Chris! We went there for an anniversary several years back.
ReplyDeleteI also loved the French Restaurant we went to maybe 10 or so years ago; had to order the chocolate souffle before the appetizers, b/c that's how long it took to make it. Deeee-licious!
Man it was my first time and I want to go back again soon!
DeleteWow, that dessert sounds amazing. Crazy it takes that long to cook, but sounds like it's well worth it!

Happy Birthday, Meka! This topic is torture for those of us who are trying to watch our weight. Fun to dream though.
ReplyDeleteThank you. :) This topic was hard. After reading all the entries today I really want to go on a food bender. LOL So bad for me, but the choices all sound so yummy

Sounds like a great birthday meal. Ate at Ruth's Chris once for a business dinner. Two of us shared the baked potato it was so big. Congrats and wishes for any more years of writing.
ReplyDeleteIt was. The Hubs and I shared the sides because they were enough for both of us and we still have leftovers. It's a pricey place, but you get your money's worth.
DeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Meka! That meal sounds great!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Meka! I agree that your meal and evening sounds yummy. If it's my last meal, I'm taking that dessert down with me. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLike you, Meka, I fell back on a birthday meal, like you I'm trying to eat more healthily, and like you I had a hard time with this topic. I like a lot of foods, but I don't have one single favorite.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Meka! Your celebration meal sounds amazing. I hope you got to take your barely-touched dessert home with you to enjoy later. :)
ReplyDeleteGoodness, just one meal? My hubby is a hobby chef, so this is a very difficult question. His Zupa Toscana or chicken curry or pulled pork or... Maybe prime rib? With creme brule for dessert.
