Music Monday - Walk Away

Another week. Another Monday. Following in with the last two weeks, I am again featuring a selection based off the upcoming books from ladies in my Twitter CP group.

Deana Birch is another contemporary romance/erotica author. She has a couple of releases planned for this year, on of which is the work to go with this week's song.

Faster, and its companion novel, Slower feature main characters Louana Higgins and Jake Riley. Jake is a rock star and he and his band are just on the cusp of 'making it big.' Jake Riley is sex on legs. His character face claim is Scott Eastwood if that helps you any with the image.

Louana...well Lou and I didn't always see eye to eye on things. Professionally, her has it together. She's career focused and knows her stuff. One of the things I loved about her is how she didn't allow that drive to get lost when embarking on the journey with Jake. Because we've all read books where that happens. Just sayin'.

However, personally, she's a woman that has been raised to make people happy and communication about her feelings isn't really her strong suit.

Together they have a fast burning relationship with lots of steamy sex, because their attraction for each other jumps off the page so clearly! Really, they are hot together. But neither do relationships well. Lou has her history and Jake is a Rock Star, need I say more.

That being said, they find comfort in their differences and it's a weird relationship, non-relationship thing as they try find their way and figure it all out. You know, like most folks do in life when they are in that honeymoon phase. That's what adds to the realism of the story.

When it's new, some people try for happy, to put their best foot forward so to speak. They don't want to make waves and so a lot of issues can get pushed to the side in order to hold on to that initial feeling of happy bliss. Because let's face it, once that new 'relationship smell' wears off, there's work to be had. For some more than others if you face communication hang ups.

That brings ups to the selection Deana gave me for this week. "Walk Away" by Joe Walsh and The James Gang is a song that represents Lou's frame of mind when dealing with things. Sometimes removing yourself from the situation is easier than pushing through and having those hard, but important conversations.

Do you know people like that?

Hope you enjoy this week's selection. And you can get to know Deana's work by checking out her erotic novella: Ms. Melody's Sex Camp for Geeks on Wattpad.

Until next time
